Kissed by a Cowboy by Debra Clopton

After reading the first book in A Four of Hearts Ranch Romance series by Debra Clopton, I've been patiently waiting for Jarrod's story. He was immediately my favorite of the Monahan brothers because his serious nature and obvious concern for others was something I could relate to. I was so happy to see the author brought someone from his past back into his life. I would have had a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that a total stranger could end up in his life and win his heart. Cassidy has known Jarrod since she was a girl staying with her Aunt Roxie when things with her parents would get rocky. Determined not to repeat the mistakes of her parents she sticks around in a loveless marriage long past the time when she should have left. After her divorce she decides it is time to go back to the only home she's ever known and the farm her Aunt Roxie left her. Upon her arrival back in Wishing Springs, TX, she discovers the one flaw to her plan of being an independent and single strawberry farmer/B&B owner. His name is Jarrod Monahan and as her luck would have it he's single, right next door, and making her feel things she had sworn she was done feeling.

Will Cassidy's past keep her from finding true love? Can Jarrod find a way to prove to her that he can love her in the way she deserves? I truly hope you enjoy Jarrod and Cassidy's story as much as I did and I'd love to hear if you've read the previous two books in the series: Betting on Hope and Counting on a Cowboy.

About the book:

Kissed by a Cowboy (Thomas Nelson, February 2016)

Cassidy was looking for a home and a place to belong . . . not for a cowboy to steal her heart.

Having lived through her parents' endless string of "matrimonial bliss gone wrong," Cassidy Starr knows when the odds are not in her favor. Divorced and humiliated, her faith on rocky ground, Cassidy is through with love. She's been bucked off that horse far too many times. Instead, she returns to Wishing Springs, Texas, and the rundown farm she's inherited from her great aunt Roxie. She'll reopen the strawberry farm and a bed & breakfast and follow in her aunt's footsteps, remaining forever-independent, happy . . . and single.

Rancher Jarrod Monahan's hands are full running the ranch, looking after his ailing grandfather, and chasing down a group of rustlers on the loose. He's pushed his longing for a family to the bottom of his list of priorities. Besides, he was in love once but ran scared and lost his shot at happiness. But suddenly, the biggest regret of his life has moved in next door with a wounded heart, determined to become a spinster . . . and that's a challenge that Jarrod can't pass up.

Jarrod sets his mind to breaking down the walls around Cassidy's stubborn heart. How can he show her that a cowboy's kiss lasts forever? For the good folks of Wishing Springs, falling in love has never been so much fun to witness.

Not by Sight by Kate Breslin

Not by Sight

For someone who loves historical fiction Not by Sight by Kate Breslin is a must-read! Her character development, intricately woven story design, and knack for details make this one of the most enjoyable books I've read in a long time. It's easy to feel the emotions of both Jack and Grace and you know from the very first chapter that there would be a mystery to solve before the book was through. Throw in the romantic connection between Jack and Grace and you have quite a story!

Jack and Grace come from different backgrounds and for a good portion of this story they both believe each other to be someone they are not. In a way this added to the mystery but also created a huge obstacle as both fought to ignore the budding friendship and growing attraction that stemmed from their car rides in the country. Through a series of events Grace finds herself working as a driver for a man (Jack) whose true identity remains a mystery. Their paths had crossed once before on a night that forever changed the course of both their lives but how each of them saw that interaction is what makes all the difference. The author does a magnificent job of tying in sight by exposing both characters' blindness when it comes to how they see people and situations within their lives. As you read Not by Sight I hope that as you witness Jack and Grace seeing things clearly, you'll be able to open your own eyes to people and situations in your own life that you've been blind to.
