While the title of the book is very catchy and appealed to me immediately it was the storyline that really drew me in. It's hard not to fall in love with Dylan from the beginning with all of his charm and I had no trouble at all envisioning an attractive cowboy with a big heart. Add in the fact that Annie has long dark hair (finally not a blonde or redhead as the heroine of the novel!) and I was hooked. Watching both Dylan and Annie let go of their fears was painful at times because we all can relate to the pain of a broken heart or the threat of a broken heart and what it's like to move past that. As they both let their guard down it becomes obvious that what each thought they knew about the other was entirely untrue. Annie does her best to avoid falling for a cowboy and tries to ignore the chemistry between them. She even goes so far as to date another man who has probably never even owned a pair of cowboy boots! In the meantime she's already promised Dylan that she will work with horse Braveheart in exchange for his help with her column that will no longer be discussing horses but instead giving advice on love. She assumes the man that has no trouble catching the eye of every woman in Moose Creek must know everything there is to know about love. In the end will her heart win her over and will Dylan be able to put aside the pain of a broken heart and open himself to the possibility of a relationship with Annie or will fear continue to rule their lives?
I received this book free of charge from Litfuse Publicity Group in exchange for my honest review.

About the Book:
Only one pair of boots—and the cowboy wearing them—can get Annie out of the mess she’s in.
Wilkerson is Moose Creek’s premiere horse trainer and equine columnist
for Montana Living. Money is tight as she tries to put her kid-sister
through college and provide for her young nephew. When Annie’s column is
cancelled, she’s given first shot at a new lovelorn column—and she
can’t afford to turn it down. Only problem is . . . Annie’s never been
resourceful, she reluctantly strikes a deal with the town’s
smooth-talking ladies’ man Dylan Taylor: She’ll work with his ailing
horse, Braveheart, if he’ll help her answer the reader letters.
closely with Dylan is harder than Annie imagined, and she quickly
realizes she may have misjudged him. But her unwavering conviction that
cowboys are nothing but trouble has kept her heart safe for years. And
she can’t risk getting hurt now.
more Annie tries to control things, the more they fall apart. Her
feelings are spinning out of control, and her sister’s antics are making
life increasingly more difficult. Annie knows she needs to turn the
reins over to God, but surrender has never come easily.
Dylan reveals his feelings for her, Annie doesn’t know what to
trust—her head or her heart. The trouble with this cowboy is that he
might just be exactly what she needs.
lives in Indiana with her husband Kevin and their three sons. In 1996,
Denise began her first book, a Christian romance novel, writing while
her children napped. Two years later it was published, and she’s been

Denise insists a good imagination helps too!
