Marathon Monday Check-In

This morning was the second weigh-in for Jess's Marathon Weight Loss Challenge and I'm happy to report that I worked hard last week and the scale showed my hard work with a loss of 3.8 lbs!!! Tomorrow morning I leave for 18 days of vacation but I am confident that I can continue tracking and stick to my plan to lose weight while on vacation.

My best friend on vacation is going to be water. I'm planning to drink lots of water while I'm gone. This is one small thing I can do that will give me some extra calories that I can use to splurge on some tasty treats in Boston and San Diego. I'm also taking protein bars to have for quick meals on travel days so I can avoid the airport food.

I'm also looking forward to running in cities that don't have temps over 100 and humidity of at least 95%. Rest assured that my workout clothes are packed and ready to go! Please say a little prayer for me while I'm traveling. I don't normally handle flying very well so I'm a little nervous to do all this flying by myself. As silly as this sounds I am going to say it anyway. This is the longest we have ever been away from the dogs and if Lucky is upset he doesn't eat and if Sasha gets mad everyone pays for it so please pray that the dogs will behave on the farm while my parents take care of them. We already miss them so much!

Do you have a hard time leaving pets at home when you travel?
If you are participating in the challenge how did you do this week?

  2. I am a mess when I leave Tals behind! I always feel so guilty and wish she could come everywhere with me! But, she is always A-ok and your pups will be too! They'll come back from grandma and grandpa's with lots of new treats I bet :)

  5. Hope you have a great time, girl!!!
It's always hard to leave the pets behind but your pups will be alright! They are in good hands and at least it's family and they don't have to be boarded with strangers. :) You could always Skype with your parents & the pups! :D
    Safe travels!! xoxo

  7. Enjoy!!!! I do not like leaving pets/animals (ie the chickens) behind. Since I won't fly, we drive and can sometimes bring along the dog. Which is nice! But then we still have to find someone to take care of the chickens.

  8. Nice week; good for you!

When we had our last dog, I wouldn't go anywhere without her, so never flew for 8 years! Our first Springer was happy to stay with my inlaws so we travelled a lot then.

Hope the you AND the puppers have a nice vacation!

  9. Yes, I have the hardest time leaving behind our sweet girl! We went out of town for a week in May and left her with Brian's parents, and it was rough. My mother-in-law was wonderful though and texted us a picture of her everyday. I felt silly, but I totally teared up when we drove away. :(

I found your blog from Yo Momma Runs, I'm excited to read more! Have a great vacation!

  12. I'm down about 3 lbs total in the challenge. Have an awesome vacation. If you're in VT let me know.
It's hard leaving Mokey when we go away, there's an awesome kennel nearby that we bring him to. He loves it!

  14. WOW! I am so proud of you! That is an amazing drop, and I will admit, this program makes me kind of jealous! I wish I had known about it. I feel you with the long vacations and eating well...I will be gone for almost three weeks in the next month, and I really need to focus on what goes into my body!

  24. I'm SO jealous that you are going to San Diego even though I was just there! The running there is amazing, every run was just lovely. Well done on the weight loss! It's not easy, so losing nearly 4 pounds in a week is fantastic! I challenged myself to eat fewer desserts, and failed miserably. Story of my life.
