Our First Vlog

Alright, let me be the first to say that I assumed I could shoot a video on my iPhone, upload it to my computer, and it would be done. Wrong! It took Allan and his fancy computer ten minutes to do what I spent two hours trying to do and then it took me 5 days to get the video to load because I didn't hit upload. Just don't ask! It's finished and we really hope you guys enjoy it!

A few notes before watching:
  1. Turn up the volume.
  2. Ignore my appearance (I literally woke up 5 min before we shot this!)
  3. Our next vlog will be better and won't take me a week to post!

What relationship advice would you give others?
What's the best relationship advice you've ever been given?

  1. I love your little southern accent Suz!!
I gave a matron of honor speech at my friend's Wedding and my advice was "Always kiss goodnight, even if you don't want to

  2. Oh my gosh, you guys are so cute! I love your accent Suz! And Allan -- is he just humoring you or is he really that great? He seems like a pretty laid back, easy going and kind guy! You guys are great.

I am not married but have been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years and we have spent much of that time apart, which is hard. I agree with you guys about communication; I think it is number one. It's really hard when you have something to say, but you can't get a hold of the other person. Sometimes it feels like they are ignoring you, but you can't take stuff like that personally! You have to remember all the times they ARE there for you and not dwell on the times that they are not (because it's not intentional!)

  3. Make time for yourselfs and each other. We used to have Wednesday night date night. That didn't mean going out on a date but after we put the kiddo to bed my hubs and I would play board games for an hour or so. Chat, talk just connect for the week.

  4. You're so cute! I love others' vlogs :) Maybe one day I'll get the courage to do one….maybe. I totally agree with you about the importance of communication! One thing I learned that I agree with is HALT (although I added an S so my version is HALTS) and it is a reminder to stop and ask yourself if you are hungry, angry, lonely, tired, or stressed before lashing out at someone or getting into an argument because, chances are, one of those things is the culprit :)

Other than that, the best piece of advice I have gotten is to keep the romance alive and act like you are still dating - have date nights (especially after having kids) and reserve time just for the two of you!

  5. so cute!!! i love this! and definitely agree that i love your southern accents! ahhh! i miss the south!

  6. This is awesome! I loved the video, and I love that your love for each other is just so apparent. All smiles :) Thanks for the advice. Sometimes, I just get so frustrated about life in general that it seems like everything Travis says to me I get mad about. I really need to work on channeling my feelings in a positive way instead of just being a grouch all of the time! It's not him that makes me mad, so why get mad at him?! haha Easier said than done!

  7. so cute :) hate i didn’t get to meet allan on monday! obviously not married-but all of my friends say date night is key. especially when you have kids!

  8. Listen, be heard, be respectful of opinions and feelings, get some time alone, and get some time together (alone from kids!!!!).

Hmmmm...a Vlog...maybe if I had a camera I could put on my bike helmet, get some good downhills (of course I'd have to start riding again!)

  9. Such a cute vlog! Love your accent too :)

I would say try to find something that you can do together, for me and Mike it is training :)

  10. totally cute!! I am usually not a vlog person but wanted to listen to your cuteness!

hmm advice, lets see, probably just talk about everything. Even if its bad or your nervous, its best to just talk it through because that will safe you from bigger and harder fights in the future.

  11. You guys are so cute and you did great! The communication thing is key. I need to do much better with it.

  12. i think this might be the cutest post ever! how awesome that allan did this with you, I think Brad would just give me one of those looks if I asked!

i agree with you all, communication is key, half the fights we have are because we don't talk through stuff.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on our blog! We love to hear from you guys!
