A Little Spice & Fantasy Football News

Good morning!

Have you entered our giveaway for the Breast Cancer Awareness Prize Pack? Check out yesterday's post for the details. You can enter to win until next Tuesday!

This week I'm nannying overnight for the little boy I keep so that means eating fish sticks, mac & cheese, and broccoli for dinner and waking up an hour before I normally do. That also means driving past our Kroger in the mornings and it has a wonderful Starbuck's inside!!!

How cute is this?!
I settled into my makeshift work space with a Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte, my netbook, and my Iphone. Wouldn't you know that not 5 minutes later a middle aged woman sits down right next to me. I was the only person sitting at a table in the entire place! There are 15 tables (I counted) and of all the places she can sit she picks the table right next to me. Then my phone rings and it was Allan. This will probably be the only time I talk to him all day and I have a thing about strangers overhearing my phone conversations with him (no, we don't say anything bad but it's my time with him and it should be personal and private). I politely began transferring my work station to another table further away (but not before I snapped this picture). My new space is right next to the door and an incredibly loud fan but with a Pumpkin Spice latte and my new cozy 3/4 sleeve Auburn sweatshirt on nothing is getting me down today!

No sooner had I settled myself AGAIN when her friends arrive. Miniskirt Mama (I say this because she is at least mid-40's and wearing a skirt shorter than what I would wear) and the third woman (who is obviously the most insecure of the three judging by what I've observed in the last 45 minutes) commenced the giggling and loud talking that parallels that of teenage girls talking about Justin Beiber! Quiet time is over for me until I'm back at the house. Determined to get my blog post cranked out I'm typing furiously anxious to get back in my truck and hit the road for home!

Well, I wish I could say that I didn't lose in Fantasy Football again but I can't. Allan's older brother beat me by 1 (yep, 1) with the final score being 100-99. It was a heartbreaking loss but Allan and my sister did beat him the past two weeks so I suppose he was due a win eventually. Allan won his game 81-47 so he's pretty excited. Next week I'm playing our friend that he played this week and he is playing my sister's husband. Fingers crossed that we can both bring home the win next weekend! I do have to say that Wes Welker scored 34 points for me and I'm seriously thinking of changing my name from the Huntsville Holsteins to Team Wes Welker!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope your quiet time this morning has been uninterrupted, productive, and possibly even includes a Pumpkin Spice Latte!

  1. I can't wait to order my first Pumpkin Spice latte of the season! It's still hot and humid here in NYC so I'm waiting for a crisp, cool day to enjoy it :)
I hate loud people too... Starbucks is suppose to be nice and relaxing!

  2. Shame about your Starbucks interruption! There is one on the Kroger 30 minutes from me, but I always drive a couple minutes further so I can have some quiet and peace in a "real" Starbucks!

  3. I really hate when I'm in public places and people sit right next to me when there's tons of other options!

  4. Haha.. how annoying, but how wonderfully entertaining at the same time. I hope that someone smacks me when I try to pull mini-skirt mama off later in life. :)

Sorry about fantasy football... I actually have no idea how that works, but any kind of loss is disappointing... winning is just so much fun!

  5. I totally know what you're talking about -- it's like when I intentionally park a thousand miles away from the entrance so no one will park next to me, and when I come back whaddaya know? Grr! Our Starbucks are ALL busy, so when I'm ever there between a lull, it's tempting to stay:)

  6. I just cannot imagine why some people want to sit right next to someone else when there are tons of other (better) seat choices. Can NOT. Drives me nutso! I need me some space!
