Another Day in the Life of Home Ownership

Today proved to be more exciting than I thought when we finally got around to fixing the leaky toilet in our bathroom. I can't even count the number of times that I've had to get up and turn the water off to the toilet because I couldn't stand the dripping sound while I was trying to sleep. Well, we set out to fix it this morning with the help of our sweet neighbors who had some extra parts that they gave us. Everything seemed to be going well until I noticed that water was leaking and dripping onto the towel under the toilet. Allan went to tighten one of the bolts and we heard a cracking sound. The toilet tank had cracked. Now Allan is off to Home Depot to find a replacement. This didn't transpire without some amusing events that had us both laughing.

Allan needed to get the water out of the top of the toilet so the tank would be empty and he could take it off. I went to get a cup and some towels and when I got back Lucky had a different idea of how he could help. He drank the water out of the top of the toilet and we both laughed hysterically!

Lucky loves playing with his "baby ducky" when he's in the bathroom. Today Allan taught him to drop the duck in the bathtub and follow it while waiting for Allan to throw it back to him. Once he gets the duck from Allan he lays down and chews on it for a few seconds and then he's ready to play again.

Today made me grateful that we have a home even if there are little things here and there to fix from time to time. I feel so blessed that we were able to find the perfect home for our family where we can live for several years to come.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and enjoying time with family, friends, and pets!
